Terms of service
Last updated November 8, 2026
These terms apply when you hire Brightdoor Studio ("we", "us") to design, build or host a website. By paying a deposit or subscribing to a care plan, you agree to them.
1. Services and quotes
We build and maintain websites for small businesses. Each project's scope, price and timeline are set out in the quote or invoice we send you. Work outside that scope is quoted separately before we start it.
2. Payments
Projects require a 50% deposit to begin, with the balance due at launch. Care plans are billed monthly in advance. Payments are processed by Stripe. Refunds follow our refund policy.
3. Your content
You're responsible for the text, photos, logos, reviews and other material you give us, and you confirm you have the right to use them. We can use information from your existing public website or business listings when you ask us to.
4. Ownership
Once your project is paid in full, you own the final design and content of your website. We may reuse general code, layouts and techniques that aren't specific to your business. We may show your finished site in our portfolio unless you ask us not to.
5. Free concepts
Free concepts are design previews only. They are not live websites, are hidden from search engines and are removed on request.
6. Third-party services
Websites rely on services such as domain registrars, hosting providers and payment processors. Their fees, if any, are separate unless your quote says otherwise, and we aren't responsible for their outages or policy changes.
7. Revisions and delays
Each package includes the revision rounds listed on our pricing. Timelines depend on receiving your content and feedback promptly.
8. Limitation of liability
We work carefully, but websites are provided "as is." To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim.
9. Ending the relationship
Either party may end a project or care plan with written notice. Amounts owed for work already done remain payable, as described in our refund policy.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington.
